Hi, I’m Biswajit.

How much would you like to read?

This is the part of the site that isn’t a résumé: where I’m from, how I work, and what I do outside it.

I'm a software engineer from India, currently building at ITMC Digital. I care about systems that stay easy to change, interfaces that feel considered, and shipping things that are actually good. Outside work, I'm usually planning the next trek.

Where it started

I grew up in Rourkela, Odisha. My dad sold computers, so there were always machines around the house. I was the kid who wanted to know what was inside them and why things worked the way they did. My first money from tech came years later, when I built a PC for someone. I guess the obsession started early.

I studied in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. In 2022, my team took a UIDAI problem statement to the Smart India Hackathon Grand Finale in Hyderabad and won, after 36 hours without sleep and a jury that told us “better luck next time”. I wrote about those 36 hours.

Travelling alone has shaped me in a different way. There’s something useful about being somewhere unfamiliar with no perfect plan and having to figure things out as you go. It teaches you to stay calm when things don't go according to plan.

Work

I started my development career at Capricorn Identity Services, working on software and automation around digital signature certificate workflows, testing, and compliance.

Since January 2026, I've been at ITMC Digital, where I work across product development, system design, and technical direction. It's a relatively young company, so there's a lot of figuring things out from the ground up, which is exactly the kind of environment I enjoy.

How I work

I'm a software engineer with a backend foundation and an eye for design. I care about how systems fit together, but also about the things people actually see and use: interfaces, copy, interactions, and all the small details in between.

I use AI tools heavily to move faster, explore ideas, and take care of the parts that don't need much human attention. What I don't outsource is judgement. I still want to understand what we're building, why we're building it, and whether it's actually good.

Where I'm going

I want to keep getting better at building complete products, not just individual pieces of software.

In five years, I want to be known for delivering things that are considered, reliable, and clearly made by people who cared. Not AI slop.

Outside the code

I like travelling without too much of a plan, exploring unfamiliar places, and trekking - especially the kind where, halfway through, I’m wondering why I thought this was a good idea. I read, watch a lot of movies, and occasionally cook on weekends. My first proper trek was a solo 22 km one. Apparently, doing that alone is still surprising to people.

What I care about

I care about good systems, thoughtful software, and the details that make products feel like someone actually cared while building them.

  • Design the data before the screens

A good product starts with good foundations. Get the data model and system boundaries right early, and everything built on top becomes easier to change.

  • Quality is the point, not the polish

AI makes writing code cheap. Judgement, taste, and care are still expensive. That's where I want to spend my time.

  • Backend work deserves design sense too

An API, an error message, and a table name are all interfaces. The same eye that notices bad spacing should notice a confusing endpoint.

  • Boring where it counts

Proven tools for the core, experiments at the edges. Nobody should be paged at 3 a.m. because a system was interesting.

Tools I’m grateful for

The tools I use enough that I’d genuinely miss them if they disappeared.

Every version of this site stays online: 2024, 2025, 2026.

Right now

What I'm building, learning, and thinking about right now lives on the now page.

I’m hungry.

…for good projects, good problems, and things worth obsessing over.

I’m young, I move fast, I communicate well, and I care a stupid amount about what I build. If something’s worth obsessing over, I don’t care whether it’s 10 a.m. or 2 a.m. Sometimes you just keep going until the damn thing works.

If you’re crazy enough to build something from scratch, I’m crazy enough to join you.

0 → 1 or 1 → 100, I’m up for both.

Tell me what you’re building
